- I have always loved earrings, I used to make them as a teenager, and then let it slide while I tried to find what I wanted to do with my life. Always on the sideline, I would be sewing, making clothes, then Teddy bears, then 3 or 4 years ago, my sister took me to a beading class. Well, I fell in love with making jewellery, and made her tiara, and did the embroidery on her wedding dress. I loved making bead jewellery, but just kept wanting to do more and more, until I got lucky enough to find someone willing to teach me metalsmithing. I felt like I had finally found what I was made to do. And I am still so passionate about it, I hope to make this my full time job, not just a hobby. I want this blog to be the story of how I get there.

Oh Penny, how awful! I'm so sorry! It is such a horrible feeling to have something stolen from you, and it must be ten times worse to have a stranger in your house.
Oh Penny...I am reading about this only now. I recently returned from my trip to India, and now I am catching up with all that I missed. Came to your blog and read this. I am so sorry to hear this. Even more than something being stolen, I think it is the fact that someone entered your home that is most upsetting. Our home is our most secure place in the world, and if even that is not left untouched, then we are left with some of the nastiest feelings of insecurity. I pray that you will find peace soon (if you haven't already), and I pray that you and your house will remain safe always from now onwards.
